The house sold! One less things to think about while we are half way across the world. yay! Kids were sad, we all were honestly, but we know its the right thing because it happened. We can make a home wherever we are, as long as we are together. Another life lesson, I hope the kids are taking notes. ;)
All of our things were packed and loaded into THIS container, the very container they will stay in and make their journey across the ocean in. WOW! See you there! :)
As a result of the house selling before we are due to fly over to Holland, we had to decide where to live. We had a couple of options...
1) The pearl district (a funky, fun area full of restaurants, shops and walking life)
2) the burbs clear across town from where our house was or
3) slumber parties with family (who we of course love dearly...but 4 people can be invasive to anyone).
Well, this is an adventure... so we chose the Pearl. What fun?! Walk everywhere, enjoy the city life on our way to a totally different life...seemed appropriate and so adventurous. Of course we will enjoy it....right? NOT entirely the case. Its great, we have a NICE roof over our heads, we have the things we need, we have parking, we are fine....but we also have neighbors and they keep different hours than us and seem to walk around with lead feet while we are trying to sleep. I am sure part of it is that we just moved from suburbia to the city...but part of it is the building and the way it was constructed. Who would have thought it mattered. Not me, nope, didn't even cross my mind! Ask people, ask! These are things that are NOW on my list to ask at every future property that I look at living that share walls with other humans.
I guess its a blessing really, aren't all things that happen? Soon we will be in Holland looking for a place to live and THIS experience with come along with us to help us be more prepared and make a better decision about where our family resides.
Soon we shall move to different corporate housing, still in the Pearl, but in a concrete constructed building that will hopefully allow the fam to SLEEP!
