Tuesday, dad went back to work and we went to the mature park in s'gravesland with friends. the kids had a blast, I was fighting a miserable cold, but it was better than being cooped up inside all day.

Sister time

sister time....so fabulous! I love my biggest little sis (yep, I have two) more than anything. We facetime often to catch up and see each others kids and just talk like sisters need to talk. She came and spent over a week with us and it was the best time ever (minus my kids getting super sick and having to stay home for two strait days and do NOTHING ) She totally understood, who with kids wouldn't?! anyway our sister time (and auntie time for the kids) together will be something I never forget. I am SO, SO blessed to have her as a sister, best friend and auntie to my kids. They really love her so much, it makes my heart so happy that they get time with her like I do.

After the kids were well again, they headed back to school and we went into Amsterdam. We had a fun walk around Vondel park, the museumplein shopping for souvenirs to bring back and even a boat tour through the canals. It was a great day.

Friday we headed out to the Keukenhof gardens with Amy and her parents

Here we stand in a field of tulips outside the gardens of Keukenhof...we pulled the car over on the side of the road, hopped a fence and started taking pictures...because we just couldn't believe out eyes! Field of tulips...it doesn't get more dutch than this! One of my fav things. (I seem to have a few don't I? Not such a terrible place to live. :))

Pancakes/clogs/windmills

Sunday we took a bike ride out to Lage Vuursche

for poffertjes of course!!
Jolette and I had fun sister time exploring Zaanse Schans on Monday after we dropped with kids off at school.
"two peas in a clog"
I love the windmills, so dutch and so fun to see over and over again. Great place to take people when they come visit. I haven't been here since we came as a family last april after we arrived. We watched them make a clog, of course and had lunch just across the river where we got to sit outside in the sun and enjoy the view of multiple windmills. The place we ate even smoked their own salmon, so the smoked salmon sandwich was an easy and delicious choice! (coupled with fresh mint tea, so dutch and fun for Jolette to try!)

Great day out. Home at 11 pm and some melt downs from riding in a squished car,  (or just being normal kids?!) but great day and fabulous weather.
