a little play time in Hilli
and books before bedtime, of course. These kids are just so darn happy to have Grammie and gpa here!
Well, the train adventure began on Monday, the day before we left with an email (in dutch, of course...thank goodness I thought to check the translation!!!) saying that the German train were on strike and only 30% of them were running. our was of course cancelled. After hours trying to get through to someone on the phone we thought were were going to have to cancel that portion of the trip...or something, but finally we got the tickets rebooked on running trains. We were ready. not knowing how were we later going to get from Munich to Paris...as that train was cancelled as well...we had faith that we could get it figured out once we were IN Munich and could speak in person with someone at the train station....as the phones were just exhausting, frustrating and then there is the whole language barrier! oy!
off we go...first leg of the train to Utrecht, where we got on the Ice train
Quick stop in Cologne to switch trains....just enough time to run outside and get a picture of Grammie and Em by the beautiful church!
some fun picture from our special train compartment we got! so fab!
we made it to Munich...had a vary hard time finding out apt...but eventually did. Dropped our bags and headed to a traditional german beer hall for some dinner!
they do not do small here. :)
