natural art....field trip

Have you ever heard of Andrew Goldsworthy? if not, google him and enjoy his interesting natural art. Aidan has been studying and their class walked to the woods in the Hoorneboegse Heide in Hilversum, I was lucky enough to get to go along. what a treat, hanging out with his new class and getting to watch the children create land art.

It was a lovely time. Here are some pictures from our time.

walking and collecting interesting natural things from the ground along the way so they could use them
we arrived at the creative location and here the ideas begin to flow about what kind of art they will create. Aidan is trying to see if he can get a branch to stand up in the sandy soul. It just wasn't working
 other people working away
Aidan and Milton working together....even though Milton only speaks Finish, and just moved to Holland, they figured it out. Kids are amazing and so adaptable!
The light when I took this picture under the tree is terrible, Aidan created this art piece with various branches all inter-twined but holding each other up. so neat!
on the return walk, Aidan got the joy of stopping traffic while the entire class crossed. Heaven for him! LOL!
