day trip to Bologna, Modena and Martanello, Italy

When you are in a country that amazing machines are invented and your husband and kids are into that sort of thin...what vacation would be complete without visiting the factories and museums that honor them.

We drove up to Bologna to tour the Ducati factory.

We watched how they build the bikes (by hand!) No pictures allowed on that tour. After we enjoyed the museum and history of the motorcycle brand.

a rare occasion that all of us are in a picture together :)

Em wanted her picture by every bike...she LOVES motorcycles...here are a few

newer models

and of course she appreciates the racing suits

After Bologna, we were headed up to Modena, but needed lunch. We had no clue where we were or where to find food...but the kids needed it fast and Mc Donalds was the only option. Aidan was worried about eating it..."you said its not real food mom" but after assuring him it was ok once a a blue moon, he ate it and we went on our way. Funny parenting moment. :/

at the Enzo Ferrari Museum.

Happy 100th anniversary to the Maserati. Great display at Enzo to celebrate

 and of course Ferrari's

Engines!

Enzo's office

of course we need to take pictures by signs that say Modena

Walking into town

more signs that say Modena

My Aidan Modena in Modena, Italy! A promise destination fulfilled!

  Church in Modena

Of course we needed to get gelato in Modena

Next we drove to Maranello.

There we even more Ferrari's...including the Ferrari Modena!

Winners hall

The all new La Ferrari...we immediately ran away after this picture...as little miss Em knocked the front license plate off. Such a 4 year old...but seriously with this kind of expensive car....we needed to leave before real damage was done!! :/ Oh the tantrum out of her that erupted because of it... ugh...oh such memories we will always remember.

back seat riders after a long, but fun day
